Registered Social Worker
Perhaps we’d be kinder to ourselves if we imagined that we were talking to a loved one or our inner child in the mirror.
My clinical practice is rooted in a strengths-based and client-centred approach as I believe that individuals are the experts when it comes to their lives. I also believe that the therapy process is nonlinear and that setbacks are part of the process. For this reason, I focus on using empathy and empowerment to establish a strong therapeutic alliance and create a space where one can learn and unlearn. I embrace clients from diverse backgrounds, addressing systemic racism and the unique challenges faced by multi-ethnic communities. Dedicated to cultural sensitivity and humility, I create a safe, non-judgmental space for people to navigate mental health issues and concerns.
I recognize that different life experiences can affect one’s self-compassion, self-esteem and self-worthiness. I welcome people who seek to make impactful changes in their lives however big or small. I use a combination of evidence-based therapeutic methods to draw from the strength of my clients and empower them to establish a sense of identity that is more resilient and self-aware. I can appreciate that talking about life struggles can be challenging. With courage, encouragement and collaboration, learning and unlearning can happen. I can’t wait to listen to your story and work together.
I look forward to taking the first steps with you!
