“Nothing ever goes away until it has taught us what we need to know.” - Pema Chödrön

Being a person is hard sometimes. Many of my clients grapple with the pressures of perfectionism, leading to feelings of high anxiety, depression and a deep sense of inadequacy. They often find themselves stuck, disconnected from their bodies, and overwhelmed by life and emotions, despite being highly self-aware and deep thinkers. You might feel numb, anxious, or hopeless, trapped in a cycle of self doubt causing you to want to avoid thinking and feelings. However, we cannot selectively numb emotions, and when we numb the painful emotions, we tend to also numb the positive emotions.

I support clients using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Somatic methods that help you embrace your thoughts and feelings, even the difficult ones, to allow for more flexibility. This involves changing the way you relate to your thoughts, reducing their impact and influence, and emphasizing mindfulness to be fully present in the moment.

Together, at a pace that feels right for you, we'll identify what is truly important to you and take concrete steps to develop a plan that uses your values as a compass for mapping out actions that take you closer to your goals, while also identifying patterns or behaviours that move you away from your values and no longer serve you.

With my years spent in community mental health and counselling training, I have worked with many individuals from all walks of life, in high conflict, crisis, and with individuals in intense pain, trauma, grief and overwhelm. My hope is to help my clients to view themselves outside of the pain or problem they are experiencing and to regain control in their lives, to support them working towards becoming their preferred and favourite selves. If this sounds like something you would like more of in your life and you're ready to embark on this transformative journey, I’d love to meet with you and do a free consult to see if I am the right fit for you.

I look forward to hearing from you.
